Hey All,
I hope everyone is getting a chance to enjoy the summer and getting to play lots of Video Games.
I wanted to write a quick blog post to talk about some role changes that have just happened within Dlala Studios. For the majority of the last 11 years, I’ve been the only “c suite” level member at Dlala, but the reality is that, for the better part of a decade, I’ve had a Strategy Team surrounding me. This Strategy Team is always making sure that the studio stays awesome, gets more awesome each year, and that the games we’re making continue to increase in quality.
I have spent the last few months trying to figure out what the right course of action is for the studio, and for the team, and with that in mind I’d like to announce the following changes:
Gemma Foster (previously Operations Director) is now the studio Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Ben Waring (previously Technical Director) is now the studio Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
Mark Ragon (previously IT Director) is now the studio Chief Information Officer (CIO)
I would like to give the biggest congratulations possible to these three. Dlala is what it is today because of their hardwork, and I am honoured to have them sit at C-level with me.
This change will also allow us to open up the Director level progression within Dlala Studios for employees that aren’t part of the Strategy Team of the studio. The first change this is reflected in is:
Eric Ciccone (previously Lead Animator) is now Animation Director
A well-deserved congratulations to Eric who has been a part of the Dlala story, officially and unofficially, for the last 10 years.
It is an exciting time for Dlala, coming off the back of Disney Illusion Island (https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/Disney-Illusion-Island-2267041.html) and already part-way through pre-production on our next releases. We are looking forward to sharing more news with you soon.
Thank you,
Aj
